Your e-bike is a powerful machine, and a little regular maintenance goes a long way in ensuring its longevity and performance. Here are our top five tips for e-bike care:
- Check Your Tire Pressure: Properly inflated tires provide better range, handling, and prevent pinch flats. Check your pressure at least once a week!
- Keep Your Chain Clean & Lubricated: A clean chain shifts smoother and lasts longer. Use a quality bike-specific degreaser and lubricant every few rides, especially after riding in wet conditions.
- Inspect Your Brakes: Regularly check your brake pads for wear and ensure your brake levers feel firm. If they feel spongy or you hear grinding, it's time for a service.
- Battery Care is Key: Avoid storing your battery in extreme heat or cold. For long-term storage, keep it at a partial charge (around 40-70%) to preserve its health.
- The Bolt Check: Periodically check critical bolts on your handlebars, seat post, and wheels to make sure nothing has loosened up from vibrations on the trail.
