Riding an e-bike is a joyful experience, and following a few key safety practices makes it even better. Here's what we always recommend:

  • Wear a Helmet: It's the single most important piece of safety gear you can own. Modern helmets are lightweight, comfortable, and can save your life.
  • Be Seen: Use your lights, even during the day! A flashing front and rear light dramatically increases your visibility to motorists. Brightly colored clothing also helps.
  • Ride Predictably: Ride in a straight line, use hand signals to indicate turns, and follow all traffic laws. Avoid sudden swerving and weaving through traffic.
  • Control Your Speed: E-bikes are fast. Be mindful of your speed, especially on shared-use paths, and always be prepared to slow down for pedestrians, pets, and other cyclists.
  • Know Your Brakes: Understand how your brakes feel and how much distance you need to stop safely. Practice emergency braking in a safe, open area to build your confidence.

Stay safe out there and enjoy the ride!
